When I plug in my external hard drive, my pc detects it, but my I go to My Computer it doesn't show up.
How can I fix this

Have you tried assigning it a drive letter in the disk management console? Right click on my computer, click manage. Click disk management. Find your drive, right click it, and click assign drive letter. If it is not already, it will need to be formatted/partitioned, which you can do from the Disk Management Console

How do i make my computer recognize my external hard drive?

For some reason my computer does not detect my external hard drive. Every time i plug it into a usb port it would make a sound on the speakers meaning that it's connected to the computer.
But whenever i go into my computer. It does not show up. Nor does a window show up. My other usb memory stick works tho.

go to ctrl pannel n install ur hard drive. then try connecting it.
