what is better usb or external hard drive?

wich is better for long term storage

i will plug it in once .. then drop about 100 to 150 gigs on it bwt it is an 500 gig drive

then store in dark and not to cold not to warm so perfect temperature

so will i better be off with usb or external hard drive ?

Well both connect to a computer via USB 3.0. Do you mean usb thumb drives or external drive. In either case the external hard drive will be perfect for long term storage.just dont drop it.
