Okay, I have an extremely old desktop, that the processor is shot on... The hard drive is still good (I hope) What can I use to remove that hard drive and attatch it to a working desktop? Also, the same question for a non-working laptop. Do I need a seperate device for each? Thank you for your answers and help. :-)

An external hard drive and an external disc drive basically have the same thing. You can find a reasonably priced external drive on craigslist.org or something like that. Simply exchange the drives and you should be good to go.
With laptops, Fry's electronics stores have a pin adapter for @$6.You can plug it into the external drive also.

for internal? No you can buy a hard drive with as much space as you want, now for how many drives you want inside the computer thats something else cause you would be limited by the number of sata/ide connections you have... but for the actual space on the hard drive it wont matter whether its 200 gb or 20 TB... why would you think it was limited?
