EDIT: So my recommendation would be the following:
RAM: 16gb is utter overkill unless you do HARDCORE video editing or image editing. Buying 8gb is already future proofing for the next 3 or so years. Right now, the standard is 4gb. While gaming, I never go above 3gb usage. So get Corsair 8gb. This'll save you ~$40.
CPU: The Intel i5 2500k has the same exact performance as the 2600k. They're the same exact chip / architecture except the 2600k has hyperthreading. The only advantage the 2600k has over the 2500k is the higher clock rate + HT. Almost no programs support hyperthreading - and if you game, hyperthreading is totally irrelevant.

Use all that saved money and buy a better high end graphics card, like the HD 7950 (Nvidia equivalent GTX 580). You'll see a good performance increase and you'll be able to max out all games w/o breaking a sweat.

HDD: 5400rpm is very slow - for anything. From gaming, to even just normal use - 5400rpm isn't enough. Get a 7200rpm with 16mb cache or higher. I suggest the Seagate Barracuda or Hitachi Deskstar series (both are budget lines with great performance).
But all your parts are incompatible. The HDD change is a must, in my opinion. Everything else can be waived, because it's just my suggestion. I strongly recommend you consider the 2500k + HD 7950. Best of luck!

Go with the first one- the Seagate Expansion
I've got one & its worked great.
Also, Seagate is generally better, WD did have some major problems a while back-they've fixed the issues, but it ruined their reputation.
