best external hard drive wii image

Sorry if its a repeated question but i want to connect my external hard drive to my wii to watch movies but nothing came up, was wondering if there a program or something needed to allow it to work and how to get it? Thanks :D

This is possible, but you need the following...
1) You'll need to softmod your Wii with the Homebrew Channel. -- This will VOID YOUR WARRANTY, but will get you started on what you want.
If you're running Wii Menu 4.2 or lower, use the Bannerbomb exploit.
If you're running Wii Menu 4.3, you'll want to use the Letterbomb exploit.
2) Make sure you're running Wii Menu 4.3 OR have IOS 58 installed -- IOS 58 (which is included with Wii Menu 4.3) has USB 2.0 support, which most USB storage devices require.
If you're running Wii Menu 4.2 or lower, you'll have to install IOS 58 manually if you don't want to upgrade.
3) Install a Homebrew Media Player on your SD card. -- I highly suggest going with WiiMC ( http://www.wiimc.org ) as it has a user-friend graphical interface & handle nearly all video formats.
