Ok, So I would like to get rid of that free space and expand Quinn's HD to the full TB. It will not allow me to expand Quinn's HD any further though! How do I get Quinn's HD to have the entire Hard Drive to itself???

click on disk erase or first aid or restore
try new ccleaner for mac

Select a volume from the disks and volumes listed in the left side of the Disk Utility window. Each disk and volume will be identified by the same name and icon that it displays on the Mac desktop.
Click the âEraseâ tab. The selected volume's name and current format will display in the right side of the Disk Utility workspace.
Click the âSecurity Optionsâ button. A Security Options sheet will display the following secure erase options.
Donât Erase Data. This method is quick, but not very secure. It removes the volume's catalog directory, but leaves the actual data intact.
Zero Out Data. This method provides a good level of security. It erases the volume's data by writing over it with zeros. The length of time this method takes depends on the size of the volume.
7-Pass Erase. This method meets the security requirements of the U.S. Department of Defense's 5220-22M standards for erasing magnetic media. This erase method can take a very long time.
35-Pass Erase. This is the highest level of data erase security that Disk Utility supports. It writes over the data on a volume 35 times. Don't expect this erase method to finish any time soon.
Make your selection and click the âOKâ button. The Security Options sheet will disappear.
Click the âEraseâ button. Disk Utility will unmount the volume from the desktop, erase it, and then remount it on the desktop.

How do you format an external hard drive from Mac to PC?

I bought a Fantom 1TB external hard drive that someone had formatted for a Mac. I have Windows XP and am trying to reformat the drive. The drive does not show up under My Computer. I pull up the disk management window and try to select the drive. All it will let me do is view the properties, but it won't let me select format drive. Any suggestions?

Connect your Fantom 1TB external hard drive and depending on what version of Windows you are currently using (mine is Windows 7), right click on your Computer icon on your Desktop and click on Manage. Then select Storage then Disk Management. You should be able to see all the drives including the Fantom 1TB external drive. It will probably be labeled as unknown. Right click on it and you should be able to see Delete Volume. Click that and you will get a warning that all data will be erased. Acknowledge OK and the volume will be deleted. Once done, do the same but this time you should see Create Volume and after that, just format.
