I have unused hard drives for sale ! They are in their orginal packaging ! It came in the mail today but I don't need it. Craigslist is great for this if you live near or in a larger city. You could actually turn a profit off them. You could also try iOffer, which is pretty popular. Not so sure on eBay, but you might be able to turn a small profit there, too.

can i use a desktop tower like an external hard drive?

ok, so i have a desktop computer... about a year and a half old. unfortunately, the graphics card went out, and i can't afford a new one right now. however, i would really like to access the files i have on that computer.. is there a way for me to connect it to my laptop and access those files like i would an external hard drive? i know there are ways to connect a laptop and a desktop, but does the desktop have to have a working graphics card for it to work? right now, it won't recognize a monitor at all.
i don't have paypal or a credit card... so buying a graphics card from e-bay is kinda not an option, and besides, that card is neither vista-compatible, nor would it support my wide-screen monitor...

all the computers in my house are already in a workgroup and networked for wireless internet.

I am pretty sure you can get a graphics card for your desktop. You need to be able to see in order to set up some file sharing for your LAN.

$11 graphics cards. PCI so it will fit in pretty much everything.
