Price drop in external hard drive memory?

anybody kno if theres gonna be a price drop by september in memory. cuz im about to buy a 500g western digital, but if the price drops i can hold out till september

Prices have held steady for internal and external hard disk drives over the last few months, so a price drop may be in order. Alternately, as I believe, it's a reflection of the fact that (basically) no new models have been uvieled in the last six months, and thus the market has settled for now. Something great may be around the corner, but I haven't heard any PR about it so it's at least a month or two from public release. You might as well buy now for even if something great comes out tommorow, prices are already so low that you'd be talking about a ten or fifteen dollar difference in price on most external units.
In other news, if you're thinking of paying more than 100$ for a 500GB external, you're doing something very wrong.
