My mom's computer has the mandiant virus. I was looking for some solutions, and almost all of them tell me to start my computer with safe mode with networking. I try to do this, but it doesn't work. it just kind of loops around. I just keep pressing F8 and it takes me to the menu asking if I want to start Windows normally or in safe mode. If I don't press F8, then when I log on, the virus screen appears and I cannot go to my desktop.

The instruction below will remove the FBI MoneyPak, Mandiant U.S.A Cyber Security, Department of Justice, QVO6 or any other ransomware.
If you have ransomware then read the link below, it has full instructions to remove it from your puter. To remove it, you will need a working puter. Your going to have to download HitmanPro and install it on another puter and then make a bootable USB. On the infected puter your going to have to change the boot order so it will boot from the USB. When you press the power button on the infected puter, start tapping the F key for your puter (see the list below for your F key) and the BIOS menu will open. Select the boot order and make the USB the first boot device.

If all else fails you will need to try to recover your data and files. Go to the link below and read on how to download a Linux Live CD to boot the system to recover what you want. If you have a Windows 8 puter then you need to turn of secure boot before using the CD. The live CD will also allow you to check out the rest of the puter. It helps to have a thumb drive or a external drive to copy your data and files to.

After you get your data backed up you can restore it back to factory settings.
Using the Advance Boot Options
If you can not boot into Windows then try Advanced boot options. When you press the power button, start tapping the F8 key. You will see the advance boot menu. Select repair your computer. (This option is available only if the tools are installed on your computer's hard disk.) Select your language and then enter your user name and password. Then click on (brand name) factory Image Restore and next. Answer the question and it should start the recovery back to factory settings.
Using Recovery from the recovery partition
When you press the power button start tapping the F key for your puter and the BIOS menu will open. Select recovery from the menu, answer the question and the recovery should begin. Depending on your puter this will take one to two hours.

Microsoft XP Gateway computer and monitor wont receive signal?

Hi. I own a Gateway desktop computer and I recently started to have a major problem with the monitor. Backstory: We had the computer on for long periods of time. After hearing a thunderstorm coming, we shut it down (which is the wise thing to do). We left it off for a couple of days, since we had no reason to turn it on. We turned it on, but the monitor reports that it isn't receiving a signal. I decided to check whether the problem is the monitor or the computer itself by displaying the screen of my laptop to the monitor. I ruled that problem out since it displayed my laptop screen. I also notice that basic functions of the computer (like cooling systems and the disk drive, as well as the hard drive) are still working. If the thunderstorm was the cause, why wasn't the t.v., which is less than 10 feet away, fried?
What may be the problem? How much would it cost to get it evaluated? How much would it cost to be repaired/replaced?

how about try to remove your the RAM clean it a bit and then reinstall it. if you got two rams. install it one by one. testing which one causes your problem.
how to clean
Things needed
â Contact Clean (Purchase from local computer hardware store)
- Cotton Bud ( For cleaning contact)
- Screwdriver (pc case removal)
- PC user manual
Then
A- Wet the end of a cotton swab with the solvent, the swab should be wet but not dripping
B- Using a circular motion, clean the contacts(tabs) on the memory module.
C- Allow the contact surface to dry thoroughly.(5 to 10 minutes)
D- Replace the memory module back into the socket, careful not to use too much pressure.
E- Repeat steps B through D for each module you have.
F- Power on the computer to test the RAM.
G- If you donât see any memory errors, replace the PC's case and power-up.
