my laptop harddrive failed, is it possible to replace the laptop hard drive by a desktop hard drive i have two spare desktop harddrives.
Answer
A desktop hard drive is much bigger - 3.5" and a laptop's hard drive is 2.5" so it wouldn't fit inside a laptop's hard-drive bay
Best you can do is use it as an external hard-drive via an enclosure

I have an old desktop and I would like to get the internal hard drive and connect it to my laptop. I know that the internal hard drive doesnt have a usb connection, but is there any way i can do it?
Answer
Being an internal drive from a desktop it will almost certainly be a 3.5" drive, and being oldish it will be IDE interface. so buy an external hdd case for a 3.5" IDE disk drive.Being for a 3.5" drive it will come with an external power supply adapter. This can now be connected to USB. The power adapter is to supply +12 volts for the HDD drive motor This cases can be bought from most computer/electronics outlets or ebay.
